Goals

I believe that it is important to set goals for yourself.  They remind you what you want to get out of life, and when you put things in writing, it’s the first step to materialization.  If your goals are really important to you, you will find a way to reach them no matter what obstacles come in your way.  If you find that your desire diminishes over time for a particular goal, perhaps it’s not the path for you.  There is always so much that life is willing to offer if you will reach out your hand to grasp it.

This blog is going to be somewhat of a journal so I can chronicle my journey and the things I have learned along the way.   I always want to continue to grow as a person, and growth should be encouraged for everyone.  That’s why I don’t mind sharing my experiences, because they just might spark an idea in someone somewhere.  And at the very least, even if no one else should ever read this blog, one day I can look back and learn from where I’ve been.  So that’s that.

Here are my goals for living in New England, as of Tuesday, July 9 2013 at 10:57 am.

  • Squeeze as much as I can from all that I am given     live simply, yet beautifully – enjoy each moment and laugh at my frustrations, because in the grand scheme of things, they are so minuscule
  • Use everything I can     as in…be as thrifty as possible. I’ve always wanted to create a chair out of old magazines… or pillows stuffed with milkweed fluff and shredded plastic bags.  Upcycling is always a wonderful thing.
  • Go to school    I want to be a certified Clinical Aromatherapist, and eventually find a good school for holistic medicine
  • Put my artistic talent to good use   thejollycephalopod.etsy.com – a LOT still needs to be done, I need to figure out exactly what I want from this Etsy
  • Wild Craft the majority of what I eat    I LOVE plants, and I’m always learning about new edibles.  I want to forage a lot of what I eat, both for health reasons, as well as to save money
  • Develop a Green Thumb   While I love plants, I’m typically a plant killer.  I’m chalking it up to being an issue of light, as I don’t think they get sufficient light.  So my goal is to at least keep a few veggie plants alive in an apartment garden, as space allows
  • Adventure    I’m not sure this can even be a goal, because adventure will always be deeply entwined with my spirit

And that’s really all that I can think of for now.  I’m so excited to move (for the second time this year)!!! Back to packing and preparing for our huge garage sale!
